Powder Blue 1959 General Electric Model C418A Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio So Sweet!

DESCRIPTION: Rare desirable powder blue color with rare desirable silver face. Most of these GE series clock radios came with black clock faces. I think the sparkling silver face is much better looking and coordinates especially well with the powder blue. This is one of the only GE\’s of this model series I\’ve come across with the push button clock dial light that actually still works! The clock dial light is a gas bulb that never needs replacing. Cool orange glow light. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1959 time frame in excellent+ working condition. Very popular late fifties step design in original powder blue color. Original factory molded color. No repaints. None needed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing plastic. The back top heat vanes are slightly yellowed from heat. This radio is over 55 years old! No missing labels. The metal knobs are in excellent condition. The tuning bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. There are a few large cracks across the surface of the bezel. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock motor is silent. The lighted clock dial knob is not working. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. The dial light works and lights brightly. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The original power cord has been replaced. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
